One of my favorite romance movies of all time is The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982) starring Jane Seymour and Anthony Andrews. Enjoy this video I found on youtube.
And one more quote to entice you...
Sir Percy: The only power that I can see at present, mademoiselle, is the power of your beauty.
Marguerite: Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Sir Percy.
Sir Percy: This beholder is enchanted
Liz: sighhhhhhh
I've never seen this movie. I'll have to pick up a copy!
ReplyDeleteYes - you MUST....
ReplyDeleteHow YOUNG they both look. Especially the Kay Jewelers lady! Both were pretty gorgeous back inthe day, no?
ReplyDeleteThe song remind me of "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler (much better) and that reminded me of Bo breaking in on Hope's wedding and whisking her away by motorcycle, but when I went to look for YouTubes, turned out that Bo was much less cute than I remembered, the cast of Days of Our Lives were really pretty bad actors, soap operas are really DRAWN OUT, somethings things from the '80s should just STAY in th '80s and and. . . well, just never mind.
PS: You're spelling my name wrong!
terri- like land of the lost re-runs on the syfy channel
ReplyDeleteOMG. I will check out the movie and I acually remember watching Bo and Hope's wedding as it aired... sigh. Though I love the 80s music ...
ReplyDeleteThe is one of my favorites, as well. I found a black-and-white DVD several years ago and it never fails to move me. Men just don't woo women anymore.
ReplyDeleteSandra - so true
ReplyDeleteHow is that I've never seen this movie? I love historical fiction. It's going in the Netflix queue today.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kimber
