The Art of Verbal Seduction - Act 1 - 5/20/11

I love Shakespeare so when Daedalus Books offered Shakespeare and the Art of Verbal Seduction for a mere 3.98 - I ordered it immediately - then it sat on the shelf - until today when bored out of mind from being on medical leave for 4 weeks I strarted to flip thru it.

I thought I'd share some of my favorites as I go through the book hence the Act 1 - clever right? LOL

From All's Well That Ends Well:

1. Are you meditating on virginity?

2. {You're} a fair creature

From Anthony and Cleopatra:

3. Come, you'll play with me sir?

4. Where hast thou been, my heart

From As You Like It:

5.What shall be our sport then?

6. Sit you down in gentleness.

7.The sight of lovers feedeth those in love.

From Cymbeline:

8. {You are} the fairest I have look'd upon

9. Come, here's my heart.

10. By Jupiter, an angel! or if not,
An earthly paragon! Behold divineness.

There is my top ten for this week - and I'm only on page 5 of the book!!!! Which was your favorite?

  1. The English dept in my Catholic girls HS was HUGE on Shakespeare, and we read a lot of it throughout my time there. Sadly, I can't remember a damn bit of it, even though I remember having a blast when we had to read various works. I need to go back and read again.

Hope you're doing well and we get to see you again real soon!

  5. As one who meditated on virginity until I married, I too vote for this. Oh Will, you knew how to turn a phrase this way and that. Thanks Liz. We all are happy to know you're on the mend.
